General Information about the Educational Institution

State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Vocational Lyceum of Service” is the only educational establishment in Zaporizhzhia region with experience in training footwear specialists, florists, and window dressers. The lyceum has been operating for over 40 years — since 1978, when it was founded as Vocational School No. 34. Initially, it served as a base training center for the Zaporizhzhia Footwear Manufacturing Association, which trained workers for the footwear factory in the professions of upper detail cutter, upper footwear maker, footwear maker, footwear upper fitter, and footwear equipment repair mechanic.

Since 1981, the list of training programs has expanded to include “Florist-Decorator” and “Radio Equipment Installer.” In 1996, Vocational School No. 44 was merged with the lyceum. From that time, new specializations were introduced: seamstress, tailor, and pattern maker. Since 1998, students have been able to receive education in the professions of “Hairdresser (Hairdresser-Stylist),” “Custom Footwear Maker,” and “Footwear Upper Maker.”

In 2001, the number of professions for which qualified workers are trained increased: licenses were obtained for the training of specialists in the professions of “Waiter. Bartender. Buffetier,” “Manicurist,” and “Pedicurist.” Over its history, the lyceum has been reorganized several times and its name has been changed. By order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated May 20, 2010, No. 465, the full name of the institution was established as: State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Vocational Lyceum of Service.”

The lyceum possesses a strong material and technical base, which ensures high-quality theoretical and practical training in the chosen professions as well as full secondary education. Facilities include a computer lab equipped with modern technology and unlimited Internet access, well-equipped workshops, gym and assembly hall and a library with a substantial and constantly updated book collection.

All students have industrial training at enterprises across the city and region. Employment is guaranteed for them. Students who study on the basis of 9 grades receive complete general secondary education.

All students who receive education under the regional order are provided with a scholarship.

The student hostel is located on the territory of the lyceum. The hostel has a capacity of 206 residents.

The staff of State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Vocational Lyceum of Service” includes talented teachers, vocational training masters, and mentors who organize artistic clubs, technical creativity groups, sports sections, fashion theater, and various events, sports competitions, and contests.

Each year, lyceum staff and students actively participate in regional and city-level events, contests, and competitions, often winning top places.

The institution is led by Borys Spektorov, who heads a team of dedicated educators and mentors that apply innovative teaching methods and adopt a student-centered approach.
